Summary
The Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for delivering innovative BI solutions and reliable and accurate data marts that help drive business growth and make operations more efficient.
Responsibilities
- Designs, builds, and deploys BI solutions for both internal and external customers and maintains and supports data analytics platforms.
- Recognizes data trends and corrects data quality issues quickly, completely, and permanently.
- Collaborates with IT peers and business partners to focus on production support, service requests, and roadmap initiatives to ensure a balanced delivery of services and solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Provides support for operational systems by troubleshooting and testing (PostgreSQL, BigQuery, BI tools).
- Creates database queries, stored procedures, functions, and views as needed.
- Shares domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
- Maintains BI documentation and source system data mapping documentation.
- Follows the software development life cycle in all development efforts.
- Creates and maintains Business Intelligence documentation.
- Performs continual remediation of BI systems and data structures to improve overall performance as well as data accuracy, integrity, and security.
- Provides ad hoc reports as needed/identified in support of the business where self-service is not available/possible.
- Other duties as required.
