The North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, located in the Division of Public Health, is responsible for data collection, health-related research, production of reports, and maintenance of a comprehensive collection of health statistics. This is a technical position involving the analysis and reporting of data from state and federal surveys. This position provides State Center for Health Statistics clients with assistance in survey research design, statistical methodology, data analysis, and interpretation of results. This position is responsible for independently processing requests for survey data/reports, determining and applying appropriate statistical procedures, and performing necessary computer programming using SAS software. The information disseminated are used to plan and design strategies to improve the health status of North Carolina residents and to evaluate the impact of public health programs. Position works a regular Monday β Friday schedule remotely. The employee must be able to work independently and perform job with minimal supervision.

Doctoral degree in statistics, mathematics, data science, data analytics, psychometrics or measurement and evaluation from an appropriately credited institution;
OR
Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, data science, data analytics, psychometrics or measurement and evaluation from an appropriately credited institution including Doctoral course work and experience equal to two years in study design and data analysis;
OR
Bachelor s degree in statistics, mathematics, data science, data analytics, psychometrics or measurement and evaluation from an appropriately credited institution and four years of experience in study design and data analysis;
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
