Job Description:
Sun Life is looking for someone to join our Climate Resilience team to support the management and ongoing enhancement of our global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory. Our ideal candidate is passionate about climate change with interest in data analysis, project management, and problem solving, with experience or an academic background in carbon accounting and emissions reporting as a plus.
The successful candidate will support data collection and review across Sun Life’s business as it pertains to our operational GHG emissions reporting, and will help maintain our inventory on our ESG reporting platform. The individual will also support initiatives to drive continued progress toward the company’s climate resilience-related objectives.

Our Climate Resilience team acts as a central resource across the business, managing the development and reporting of our enterprise-wide GHG emissions, monitoring performance against goals, and supporting our global climate strategy and resiliency initiatives. Supporting the team’s efforts is a network of sustainability partners from different business groups and regions in which we operate.
What will you do?
- Support emissions data collection and data review across the business for scopes 1 and 2, and select scope 3 categories, for Sun Life’s annual reporting and disclosures
- Support data upload to a carbon accounting data management platform, driving process improvements and automation of GHG emissions data collection and computation
- Track performance against climate-related metrics, and support annual GHG emissions third-party assurance process
- Support various other climate-related resiliency initiatives as needed
