Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled contractor to design and develop a user-friendly, interactive Tableau dashboard to present school organization data. This project involves leveraging Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) to create a comprehensive visualization of educational data, ensuring compliance with national reporting standards and scalability for future integration.
Responsibilities:
· Data Acquisition and Preparation:
· Obtain and understand the EDPass Organization Directory information data package.
· Clean and prepare data for visualization in Tableau.
· Visualization Development:
· Design and implement an interactive Tableau dashboard with intuitive search and filtering functionalities.
· Incorporate clear visualizations such as maps, charts, and tables.
· Ensure the dashboard adheres to accessibility standards.
· Reporting Standards Compliance:
· Align the dashboard with national education data reporting standards and specific project requirements.
· Documentation and Code Sharing:
· Provide detailed documentation of the Tableau workbook, including data sources, calculations, and design choices.
· Develop clean, well-commented, open-source Tableau code for broader use.
· Training and Support:
· Create training materials and provide basic training for staff on dashboard usage.
· Offer ongoing support for two months post-completion to address questions and resolve issues.
· Communication and Collaboration:
· Maintain ongoing communication and periodic check-ins to share progress and gather feedback.
· Submit iterative drafts for review, incorporating feedback to deliver a polished final product.
Required Skills:
· Proven experience in developing interactive Tableau dashboards, including Tableau Desktop, Prep, and Server.
· Strong understanding of CEDS and national education data reporting standards.
· Familiarity with EDPass data packages, particularly the Organization Directory.
· Excellent data cleaning and preparation skills.
· Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
