Business and Data Analyst

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), the premier membership association dedicated to promoting the motorcycle lifestyle and protecting the future of motorcycling, is seeking an experienced Business and Data Analyst, who supports the optimization of business processes and manages data projects related to integrity, hygiene, and analytics in a matrix-managed environment, as directed by the Director of Information Technology.

Summary of Duties:

This hands-on position collaborates with stakeholders across departments to maintain and analyze data, identify trends, map and manage cross-functional business processes, and provide actionable insights that drive operational efficiencies. The analyst applies business process knowledge and data analytics to develop, recommend, and communicate relevant and actionable insights to support business process engineering and objectives.

The analyst supports system and business analytics, as well as system automations that impact opportunities to increase member engagement, retention, and acquisition. The position manages analytic data platforms; data hygiene and integrity efforts; the access, design, and implementation of reporting solutions; and the approach to advanced quantitative modeling and dashboards.

The analyst maps processes and data from repositories and relational databases to fulfill data requests, provides analytics reports, and performs data updates, while contributing to data management and processing projects. In addition, the position assists with member services and helpdesk support requests to ensure customer service responsiveness remains timely.

This position works from and is located at the Pickerington, OH office headquarters.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Business Process Engineering
    Β 
    • Partner with departments to understand business rules, map data flows, and appropriately document processes to enhance operational efficiency
    • Develop and manage system automations, timing reliability, and recommendations for process improvements based on data-driven insights
    • Serve as a liaison between technical and operational staff to identify and apply change management and member service opportunities

  • Data Integrity and Data Governance
    Β 
    • Works with complex datasets to perform exploratory data analysis and maintain data consistency and high confidence levels across systems
    • Gather, analyze, and provide meaningful insights from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for operational efficiency
    • Implement plans that contain complex data and business process changes to existing systems and business operations
    • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to communicate insights effectively

  • Research, Innovation, and Other Duties as Assigned

    • Review and recommend innovative solutions to enhance member services and the processes of data transfer between systems
    • Establish and maintain relationships with professional organizations, peer groups, and industry trade groups to stay current with technology, business process, and data management best practices

Qualifications (KSAs)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, analytics, or related field or experience.
  • 1-3 years’ experience managing relational databases and systems; developing, mapping, and implementing business processes; and knowledge of cloud-based architectures
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, extract, and analyze large datasets, including experience in process mapping, data hygiene, and data governance
  • Proficiency in business process data analysis tools and software, such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, Visio, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Acute attention to detail required with a commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse stakeholders
