Description

The Cloud Business AnalystΒ is a specialist professional whoseΒ primary responsibility is to provide department, portfolio and solution leadership with the tools, techniques and support they need to confidently make decisions regarding workload placement.Β  The purpose of the analyst is to discover opportunities for optimization and reduce barriers to cloud adoption.Β 

The analyst considers processes that span multiple workgroups within major sections of the department, with the ability to work between high level overviews down to detailed work-level tasks and steps, while maintaining an understanding of how the processes, applications, systems, tools, and people involved contribute to the purpose and objectives of the department.Β

This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.



Responsibilities
  • Support various special projects and research assigned by division, portfolio and solution management that requires data compilation analysis for all work groups; interact with partners in other divisions or departments to discover opportunities.Β 
  • Investigate and recommend cloud financial management means and methods including usage and rate optimization.Β 
  • Prepare business cases, charters, requirements, and other definitional artifacts for cloud decisions.Β 
  • Draft, review, revise and optimize architectural artifacts and assets.Β 
  • Implement and apply techniques and tools for cloud financial analysis, justification, planning and management.Β 
  • Provide cloud finance training and support to stakeholders.Β 
  • Recommend business process innovations which reduce barriers to cloud adoption.
  • Continuous learning on cloud technologies and best practices


Qualifications

Required:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

Β 

Work Experience:

  • 7+ years of business operations or related professional experience required
  • 4+ years of experience managing technical products or processes
  • 1+ year cloud-focused experience

Demonstrated Skills & Abilities:

  • Written and verbal technical and non-technical communication capabilities
  • Financial analysis: forecasting, actuals, estimation, budgeting, etc.
  • Business Analysis / Architecture
  • FinOps
  • Deep organizational knowledge
  • Core cloud concepts
  • AWS / Azure Cloud: latest offerings / services, tagging practices and standards
  • Project and Program Management: agile, iterative, scope, resource
  • Software Development: lifecycle, scripting, markup, API, command line, version and source control, DevOps, CI/CD, testing
  • Financial management, strategy and tactics
  • Full Stack System Architecture: compute, storage, network, monitoring, CDN, caching, messaging, identity and access management
  • Product Development: market analysis, incubation, design, usability, lifecycle
  • Power Platform & SharePoint
  • Data Science / Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning: data acquisition methods, data modeling, ETL, feature engineering, database, frameworks, training and testing, algorithms, validation
  • Query data from multiple data sources.
  • Application Portfolio and Lifecycle Management
  • Information Technology Management and Governance
  • Ability to query data from multiple data sources.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment
  • To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment

Specific Degrees, Certifications, Licenses:

  • Certification in AWS or Azure Fundamentals
  • FinOps CertificationΒ 

Must have or be able to obtain certifications within one year of hire

Preferred:

  • Master's degree
