Serco is seeking a Data Analyst to apply professional talents toward development and support of Navy modernization program information sharing, briefing material development, and reporting.Β  You will be supporting the NAVSEA PMS 451 DDG Modernization 2.0 program. Using Microsoft Office based products, particularly Excell and Project, you will be responsible for coordinating program activities and constructing executive level briefing material to report programmatic status to key government and private sector stakeholders.

You will be a part of a small team that works closely with our customer and other teams to deliver quality U.S. Navy program management. Matt Weber is the team manager and has more than 25 years’ experience with ships and Fleet introduction and is a Navy veteran.

The Data Analyst is a vital member of the DDG modernization team.Β  You will be responsible for performing assignments requiring the gathering, analysis, visual display and sharing of data and briefing materials among numerous stakeholders.Β  You will provide high level administrative support to the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager to include understanding data aggregation from multiple sources.

In this role, you will:

  • Be the focal point for the integration of people and processes, enabled by technology, to facilitate the exchange of operationally relevant information and expertise to increase organizational performance.
  • Develop and lead deep-dive data analysis and define/track metrics ISO executive decision making process.
  • Show experience or aptitude in schedule development and/or analysis.
  • Produce accurate and useful information through aggregation and analysis of large amounts of spreadsheet data which can be used in charts and briefings. Use knowledge of key players, processes, and procedures to identify and fill gaps in data to create actionable knowledge for the client. Employ statistical analysis and data visualization tools to effectively extract insights and communicate findings.
  • Listen for challenges – attend meetings and listen for the pressure points. Brainstorm how the Program team can help solve those challenges.Β  Actively listen, observe, and ask questions of whomever you can.
  • Attend recurring and emergent meetings to track, consolidate, report, filter actions and tasks for accomplishment by the team.Β  Participate in Program Reviews for DDGM 2.0, with Planning Yard, AITs, PARMs, and other Participating Activities.
  • Support action item and milestone planning and tracking, project planning and progress, and program metrics establishment and tracking. Monitor standards for the quality of reporting and actions in projects. Assist in the resolution of project and program priorities.Β  Maintain up-to-date information and assures quality control throughout all contract activities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data analytics, incorporating new methodologies and technologies as appropriate.








Qualifications






To be successful in this role, you will have:

Β 

  • Active DoD Govt Issued Secret Clearance andΒ US citizenship (no visa sponsorship)
  • A Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years directly relevant work experience
    • Desired degree in Data Analytics, Engineering, Economics, Business, or Mathematics, or related field.
    • 0-3 years of experience in program management, financial management, dashboard/metrics development, or data analysis preferred.
    • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 8 years applicable work experience.
  • Ability to work at HQ / Washington Navy Yard with a hybrid schedule 3 days per week at start.
  • Requires and independent, self-motivated, and critical thinker that takes initiative and completes reports/tasks in an independent and timely manner.
  • Ability to interpret client requirements and quickly develop solutions.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills to include Excel (macros, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and Powerpoint and MS Project product development and maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills: Β Need to interact with senior clients one on one and assess needs. Demonstrate excellent writing and presentation skills to develop recommendations, briefings, documents, papers, and conceptual and analytical reports for clients.
  • 10% potential travel

Additional preferred experience and skills:

  • Knowledge of the NAVSEA, its customers, organization, and business objectives.
  • Direct experience as a Navy staff data analyst. Familiarity with data sources and systems commonly used by U.S. Navy.
  • A strong background in data analytics, including proficiency in statistical analysis, data visualization, and advanced analytic techniques.
  • Knowledge of process improvement, strategic planning, and change management.

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary for this role is $91,701.62 to $152,836.04Β however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
