JOB DESCRIPTION: |
Β NORC at the University of Chicago is seeking a Data Analyst to support a diverse range of research projects.Β At NORC, Data Analysts work with our Statisticians and Data Scientists and perform tasks such as importing, cleaning, transforming, or validating data. They may also support the presentation of data by developing charts, graphs, and tables. In addition, the Data Analyst may assist in preparing sample designs for primary data collection, obtaining and harmonizing secondary data sources, preparing data files for delivery by determining record weights, identify, analyze, and interpret patterns in data sets and maintain databases/data systems, dictionaries, etc. The Data Analyst is expected to work collaboratively in a team environment. As a condition of employment, all NORC employees and contractors β including those working remotelyΒ β must be fully vaccinated (as defined by current CDC guidance) against COVID-19. DEPARTMENT: Statistics and Data Science |
The Statistics and Data Science department conducts a wide range of statistical projects, engaging in statistical analysis, modeling, data linkage, matching, disclosure control, small area estimation, and Bayesian analysis, to support all aspects of social science research. NORC statisticians and data scientists design and implement rigorous, efficient methods for sampling, weighting, and imputation for sample surveys and evaluation research. They also employ advanced techniques for analyzing and interpreting data. The department collaborates with the Methodology and Quantitative Social Sciences department, all NORC research departments, and the Academic Research Centers in addition to conducting research in its own field. |
