About the Job
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an open Health Data Specialist position at either our Media, PA headquarters or Swansea, IL location. The ideal candidate will be motivated, detail-oriented and a problem solver with excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidate will thrive in a feedback driven environment. This is an entry level position responsible for processing medical record release of information (ROI) requests in a timely and efficient manner while ensuring accuracy and providing customers with the highest quality product and customer service. Associate must always safeguard and protect the patient’s right to privacy by warranting that only authorized individuals have access to the patient’s medical information and that all releases of information are following the request, authorization, company policy and HIPAA regulations.
RRS Medical is now offering a $500 signing bonus for candidates payable at their 90 day anniversary.
This position may be remote dependent on location or will be in the office 2-3 days a week in Media, PA or Swansea, IL.
Responsibilities
- Receive and complete incoming requests for information and respond in a timely manner
- Validate requests and authorizations for release of medical information
- Consistently audit data entry to ensure all information is correctly entered and documented Perform quality checks on all work to assure accuracy
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, clients and requester
- Demonstrate helpful and effective telephone etiquette
- Maintain working knowledge of the current laws
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality as scheduled
- Work within scope of position and direction; willingly accepts assignments
- Maintain confidentiality, information security and ethical behavior
- Accept new assignments willingly to meet business needs
Skills
- Ability to effectively use computer software and technology as required by the member facility including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to understand and become knowledgeable of Release of Information standards, policies, procedures and regulations and to complete work in compliance of these and additional standards
- Ability to comprehend basic healthcare terminology
- Ability to accurately and efficiently utilize a computer to complete tasks associated with release of information services
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, organize workload and prioritize work tasks to meet production goals
- Ability to adapt to change and respond to difficult and challenging situations in a professional manner
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Effective organizational skills a must
- Excellent typing skills
Qualifications
- Previous experience within the release of information, medical records, or other related healthcare environment is preferred
- Proven customer service experience and/or training
- High School diploma required or equivalent
