    TITLE:  Data Specialist 

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     
    1.  Educational Settings Background

    2.  Bachelor required, Master preferred

    3.  5 or more years of experience as a technician

     

    REPORTS TO:    Director of Curriculum and Instruction

     

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    (The following are the essential fundamentals to include but not limited to the following job duties)

     
    1. Directs training and/or trains employees to operate computer and peripheral equipment, and software.  Issues written and oral instructions regarding system and software usage.

    2. Coordinates and supports IAR/DLM, NWEA, Accelerated Reader/Math, Study Island, Compass Learning, Power Announcement, Scholastic (Read 180/System44) and all other educational software.

    3. Responsible for all state system uploads; ISBE SIS (students, teachers, and courses), ISLE, CRDC KIDS.

    4. Provides data analysis for all administrators and district initiatives (i.e. Oasys, ECRA, 5 Essentials, etc).

    5. Assists administration with all required state and local reports.  Includes ad hoc reports and interpretation of state requirements.

    6. Provides critical input for major grants including, writing, coordinating, and tracking.

    7. Provides critical input for District Tech Plan, School Improvement Plans, etc.

    8. Roll out and maintain software and classroom technology initiatives (grant initiatives, technology integration, etc.). 

    9. Assist Student Services Director with coordination of SPED State Reporting, and Read 180.

    10. Implement, maintain and support PowerSchool student information systems including administrative, teacher and parent portals.

    11. Assist Business Manager with all technology initiatives, long and short range technology planning, forecasting technology trends, transportation, and technology related budgetary concerns, and purchasing. Serves as a resource for Business Manager on E-rate functions.

    12. Assist with Extended Day and Summer school programs.

    13. Collects data including surveys and evaluation documents to determine program effectiveness.

    14. Assists with the organization and maintenance of the Curriculum and Instruction Department website.

    15. Assists with development of  the district newsletter.

    16. Assist Coordinator of C and I with all initiatives, technology professional development, software, and presentations/programs.

    17. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    18. Coordinate K12 online school.

    19. Other duties as assigned

     

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

     

    Salary and work year determined by the Board of Education.

     

    EVALUATION:

     

    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
