POSITION PROFILE:

Do you enjoy working with data to assess effectiveness, impact and improvement? Are you a whiz at organizing and managing spreadsheets or databases, with a keen eye for detail? If so, the Data Specialist position may be the next position for you.Β 

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Data Specialist provides the administrative support and oversight of data collection via nFORM, evaluation, monitoring, and reporting. Β This position works closely with the Dads Corps Case Managers, Employment Specialist, and Intake/Recruitment Specialist to ensure that all data is accurately inputted into the client tracking database in a timely manner. This position is eligible for 60/40 hybrid work schedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides the administrative support and oversight of data collection via nFORM, evaluation, monitoring, and reporting during the contract termΒ 
  • Provide training, technical assistance, and capacity building to all program staff in the use of database, data collection, and evaluation design.
  • Perform quality assurance checks for program and communicate to case managers and other Dads Corps staff any client-based information missing or found to be inaccurate.Β 
  • Provide administrative support to staff in preparation of program audits and compliance checks.
  • Performs monthly client file review with program staff to ensure all programmatic activities are captured in client tracking database.
  • Maintain positive and supportive relationships with co-workers/agency staff
  • Participate in frequent supervision, staff meetings, and professional development trainings.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge about SAY San Diego, its programs, and services offered.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends, as neededΒ 

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications):

  • BA in Social Work, Social Sciences, Public Health, Public Administration, or 2 years of related work experience may substitute for degree.
  • Strong data management experience supporting research and evaluation of programs
  • Proficient in survey/data collection required for programmatic outcomesΒ 
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, cultures and socio-economic families and the data that represents these demographics.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Β 

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required
  • Computer proficiency of Microsoft Office, SPSS, and other commonly utilized database software (Access, Efforts to Outcomes (ETO), ServicePoint);Β 
  • Ability to manage multiple demands and prioritize when needed
  • Access to reliable transportation and willing to use it for work-related purposes
