Data Specialist, ROA

This role is the primary point of contact for ROA data collection and validation, to ensure that NAIA members receive accurate, impactful insights that drive the success of their athletics program. A critical role in supporting the NAIA’s initiatives to maximize member value through the ROA program by collecting critical data from numerous resources, maintaining data quality, and conducting analytical and industry research to strengthen membership engagement and value while providing exceptional customer service. 

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Oversee the day-to-day implementation of the association’s ROA data validation processes to ensure that policies, procedures, and definitions are being met during the data submission process.

· Lead customer support of the NAIA’s annual ROA data collection process.

· Engage with member institutions in the instruction and completion of their data submission process to ensure information entered is accurate and on-time. 

· Investigate to resolve data discrepancies and ensure accuracy in reported data with institutions.

· Work in conjunction with NAIA legislative services department to ensure that financial aid reporting policies are being met in the ROA data collection process. 

· In coordination with the department director, manage the ROA’s reporting and research initiatives to develop key business trends and provide data for publications, presentations, and other materials. 

· Develop ROA data and reports for appropriate internal teams, councils, committees, associations, conferences, and/or member institutions as assigned throughout the year. 

· Support ROA member feedback process. 

· Responsible for supporting departmental duties, as assigned.

  Skills & Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Analytics, Business Administration, Research) or the equivalent through work experience.

· Strong skills in data analysis, data visualization, customer service, and communication.

· Knowledge of higher education and/or intercollegiate athletics is preferred.

· 2- 4 years of experience seeking feedback to integrate into a system application with various stakeholders.

· Strong demonstrated organizational skills and experience with managing multiple tasks within pre-determined deadlines.

· Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Bi, Tableau, and other business software programs.
