Data Visualization Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW: 

We are looking for a talented Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to boost our analytics capabilities and improve our business intelligence program. Your work will provide valuable insights that help drive our business forward. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enhance Reporting Capabilities: Deliver timely and accurate analytics to support decision-making across the organization.
• Strengthen Data Integrity: Design and maintain robust data models for BI projects in collaboration with the data engineering team.
• Drive Collaborative Insights: Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable insights.
• Refine Visualization and Analysis: Continuously improve data visualization and analysis techniques to maximize value.
• Optimize Business Processes: Leverage data insights to identify and implement operational improvements.
• Promote Data Literacy: Mentor teams and deliver training programs to enhance organizational data proficiency.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Oil and Gas Industry Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in various aspects of the oil and gas industry building business intelligence applications, understanding its unique data challenges.
• Data Visualization Tools Expertise: Advanced proficiency in tools like Spotfire and Power BI to create interactive and insightful dashboards and reports.
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Translating Business Needs: Skilled in understanding and documenting business requirements, converting them into detailed BI specifications.
• UI/UX Design Principles: Understanding of UI and UX design principles to create intuitive and user-friendly data visualizations.
• SQL Proficiency: Strong skills in writing SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation, with experience in Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric being a plus.
• Project Management: Proven track record of managing and delivering multiple BI projects with high-quality outcomes.

DESIRED SKILLS

• Data Governance: Experience in implementing data governance frameworks for BI and maintaining documentation to ensure data quality and compliance.
• Advanced Analytics: Proficiency in statistical modeling and machine learning techniques using Python to enhance data analysis and visualization.
• Version Control Systems: Experience using version control systems like Git and dbt to manage and track changes in data models and scripts.
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric for data storage, processing, and analytics.
