Ecommerce Business Analyst
Your Opportunity:
Rio Grande is a precious metals and materials supplier for Jewelers across the country, and we are expanding fast! Our IT Analysis team is looking for a global eCommerce Business Analyst to support multiple corporate eCommerce websites. You will be the liaison between IT and our business teams to turn ideas, concepts and requirements into production-ready features and functionalities. You will evaluate, design, and document business requirements and collaborate with teams to ensure successful implementation/resolution of defects, functional improvements, and new features and capabilities. What You’ll Do:
· Help define and drive strategic priorities in partnership with the sales, marketing, and merchandising teams.
· Work closely with the sales, marketing, and merchandising teams to identify areas of improvement and perform functional analysis for developing eCommerce solutions.
· Work closely with content teams to oversee updates and optimization within the CMS, ensuring content is aligned with customer journeys and supports business goals.
· Facilitate workshops to collect business requirements, functional specifications, solution design, user stories, technical requirements, and process/data flows.
· Work with developers to review and clarify requirements to ensure technical specifications and design satisfy the business needs.
· Collaborate with the QA coordinator for successful testing and deployment.
· Initiate, plan, manage, and close medium to large projects.
· Consistently partner with other IT associates to offer seamless solutions that meet the requirements across the business.
· Analyze eCommerce metrics, including traffic, conversion rates, average order value, and customer retention to provide insights and recommendations to enhance the overall performance of the websites.
· Analyze customer behavior data and conduct market research to identify trends, pain points, and opportunities for enhancing the website and user experience.
· Act as the liaison between the IT Organization and key business users to ensure requirements and progress are communicated accurately.
· Manage system issues through triage and resolution.
What You’ll Need:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Marketing, Business, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Business Analyst role developing functional and technical specifications, with hands-on experience in an eCommerce environment.
· Experience using Optimizely or similar platforms for web and eCommerce optimization.
· Strong project management skills with a proven record of delivering projects on time and in budget.
· The ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent time management and attention to detail.
· The ability to effectively communicate with technical, non-technical, and executive teams on issues, tasks, and status.
· Strong self-motivation and self-direction.
· Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
· Basic HTML/CSS knowledge to assist with troubleshooting and managing small front-end updates within the CMS or eCommerce platform.
· Knowledge of API integrations between eCommerce, CRM, ERP, and third-party services (e.g., payment gateways, shipping providers).
· Knowledge of UX/UI principles to help enhance the customer journey and website functionality.
· Experience with marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and integrating them with eCommerce systems.
· Project management certification within established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), SCRUM/Agile certification, Lean Six Sigma, or PMI.
Schedule:
Within the hours of 7AM-5PM, with hybrid opportunities.
Environment/Physical Requirements:
Primarily sedentary, requiring employees to sit for extended periods. This can include working at a computer, attending meetings, and performing other tasks while seated.
