SUMMARY

The Financial Planning Analyst (FP&A) plays a pivotal role in driving the company's financial performance by providing strategic financial insights and ensuring the efficient allocation of resources. This position oversees budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes, enabling senior management to make informed business decisions. The FP&A Manager collaborates closely with various departments, providing data-driven analysis and recommendations to achieve organizational goals.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Budgeting & Forecasting

 

  • Work with business leads as the finance SPOC for annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes 
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, including coordination with department heads to develop realistic and achievable financial plans.
  • Prepare and update rolling forecasts to reflect changing business conditions.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis and actionable insights.

 

Financial Analysis & Reporting

 

  • Develop, monitor, and report on key financial, sales and operational KPIs, providing insights and recommendations to enhance performance
  • Own ad-hoc analysis requested by executive team including updating board decks
  • Perform profitability analyses using data and make recommendations for improvements in profitability
  • Support M&A activities including due diligence, financial modeling, deal structuring, and post-acquisition integration
  • Contribute to the credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts
  • Develop and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of key business drivers, including revenue, expenses, and operational performance metrics.
  • Support long-term financial planning, scenario modeling, and strategic decision-making.
  • Streamline processes where needed.

 

Strategic Support

 

  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate strategic initiatives, investments, and capital expenditures.
  • Drive process improvements and automation within financial reporting and forecasting tools.
  • Provide insights into market trends, competitive positioning, and economic factors impacting business performance.
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities

 

Team Leadership

 

  • Foster a collaborative environment, promoting effective cross-departmental communication.

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities                  

 

This job has supervisory/oversight responsibilities commensurate with job obligations.  There are no direct reports.

 

Education and/or Experience                  

 

Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.)  in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university; and 4+ years’ experience in FP&A, M&A, Investment Banking or similar experience successfully and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

 

 

Other Skills and Abilities                  

 

Proven experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting

Must have Expert working knowledge of Excel and any ERP System

Must be able to think "outside the box"

Effective communication skills are required: including the ability to make effective presentations; prepare written documentation including proposals, quotations and letters; maintain accurate and complete client and project files.
