JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Β Under the supervision of the Director of Administration, the financial analyst coordinates all business activities in support of the Finance and Administration operations of the College of Medicine Deanβs Office. This position serves as a liaison between College of Medicine Administration, business managers and directors, Payroll, Purchasing, Business Contracts, Vendors, Outside Contractors and the AAMC.
ResponsibilitiesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Β
- Oversees budget development, financial report generation, management and control of all intramural and extramural departmental funds; private, state and federal monies.Β
- Manages budget preparation and/or revisions for college- based accounts.Β
- Provides management oversight by monitoring financial systems, approves invoices and procurement card statements.
- Ensures that ledgers are balanced, and expenses are within budget; oversees monthly reconciliation of all accounts.
- Provides oversight of personnel and hiring functions.
- Coordinates position approval and posting; serves as liaison between HR and hiring manager to facilitate application posting and employee onboarding process.
- Monitors and tracks College-wide faculty recruitment process to ensure appropriate approvals are in place and verifies funding sources and details.
- Reviews expenditures regularly throughout the year to determine trends and patterns.
- Analyzes, designs, documents, and implements internal financial reporting systems and procedures; compiles and analyzes financial information, and develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.Β
QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Β Β
EDUCATION: Bachelorβs Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years related financial or business administration experience; OR Masterβs Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field of study in lieu of experience. (Experience working with contracts and grants preferred.)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Β
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
- Excellent computer skills.Β
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Oracle, or another financial enterprise system.Β Β
WORK SCHEDULE:Β This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings. May require occasional overnight travel.Β
