Job Title: Financial Analyst - Risk Arbitrage

Purpose of the role: The Analyst will join an experienced Global Risk Arbitrage team managing a large account for a leading multi strategy platform. The Analyst will report to the head of US Risk Arbitrage investments. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional with a strong legal/corporate finance background to join our dynamic team.

Job Description: As a Financial Analyst specializing in Risk Arbitrage, you will play a crucial role in identifying, analyzing, and executing investment opportunities related to Mergers, Acquisitions and Corporate Events.

Key Responsibilities

Research and Analysis: Carry out in-depth proprietary research on Risk Arbitrage situations in North America. Focus on complex antitrust and regulatory reviews. Analyze financial statements, deal structures and regulatory filings to assess potential risks and rewards. Develop views on the fundamental value of the underlying businesses.

Due Diligence: Collaborate with the investment team to perform thorough due diligence on investments. This may involve liaising with legal, compliance and industry experts to ensure comprehensive analysis. Establish and develop relationships with CEOs/CFOs of global companies, lawyers, bankers and regulators.

Reporting: Provide timely updates to the investment team on the status of investments. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate investment theses, risks and potential rewards.

Risk Assessment: Evaluate the risks associated with each investment and develop risk mitigation strategies. Utilize quantitative models and financial analysis to assess the probability of deal completion and the potential impact on the fund's portfolio.

Market Monitoring: Stay abreast of market news, corporate events and regulatory changes that may impact Risk Arbitrage investments.

Qualifications

  • Very strong academic qualifications with bachelor's degree in Finance or a JD/legal degree.
  • Prior experience (2-5 years) at investment bank, private equity, hedge fund or global law firm.
  • Excellent legal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to handle due diligence interviews with counterparties.
  • Be a β€œself-starter”, able to take initiative in contributing to the firm whilst at the same time operating harmoniously and constructively within the team.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $150,000 – $200,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
