Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for an IT professional who possesses extensive technical and delivery skills to join our Boston based Enterprise Business Solutions Team as a HRIS Senior Business Analyst. This role will be accountable for understanding the business requirements, system processing implications and data needs of a global Human Resource function who has been building a customized HRMS solution to support a growing global organization. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert with proven ability to deliver HR technology solutions required to solve complex business issues. The role will partner with both HR Business leaders and IT resources to translate business needs into system requirements. The candidate must possess a passion for delivering value through technology. Β With time, this role will expand to support other functional areas.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with HR business partners to advise and shape projects to meet their needs. Elicit requirements using interviews, documentation analysis, requirements, and workshops.
  • Develop business requirement documentation, use cases, mockup screen designs and workflow diagrams. Organize information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and present information in a manner that business customers can review and approve.
  • Become an expert in the detailed operation and configuration of the HRMS application.Β 
  • Assist in development of standard reports for HRMS customer needs.
  • Continuously increase HRIS application and tools knowledge as well as maintain awareness of current trends in HRMS on product development and key technologies.
  • Work with teams that are geographically dispersed and comprised of all disciplines, such as architects, business analysts, developers and testers.
  • Engage in the development and execution of testing plans, document, and triage issues.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills in leading the project team in issue resolution.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years Administration and/or implementation experience in a BA Role supporting complex systems development or packaged software implementation effortsΒ for HRIS systems
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance, state and federal regulations. Ability to research and recommend solutions
  • Understanding of functional analysis and system design
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable liaising with remote users and vendors
  • Independently motivated with a β€œteam player” mentality with an ability to offer flexibility while maintaining focus on solution delivery
  • Competence in working with relational databases, XML files, data analysis and SQL scripting
  • Experience supporting Finance, Legal and other Corporate systems is a plus
