Role Summary

The Lead Data Specialist, Customer Identity is a highly skilled business expert with cross-functional project experience in designing and deploying solutions to address customer engagement challenges across omnichannel marketing ecosystems. In this role, you will have a range of responsibilities crucial to the success of the company's commercial strategy for customer data. One of your main tasks will be to review and lead the gathering of business, functional, and technical requirements, collaborating with stakeholders across the organization, including business teams and Digital engineering teams.

A key goal is to establish a unified commercial strategy for customer data, understanding the needs and objectives of the business, as well as the technical capabilities and limitations. Through the process of gathering and analyzing requirements, you will have the opportunity to co-design solutions with engineering partners that effectively align with the company's objectives. Leveraging your functional and technical expertise, you will create and deploy solutions that enhance customer engagement across multiple channels, such as email, social media, mobile apps, and other relevant platforms.

The role requires a deep understanding of the customer lifecycle for both healthcare providers (HCP) and patients. You will be responsible for developing requirements for integrating transactional data from various sources and enriching it with first and third-party data. Data consistency is a critical aspect of this role, as you will need to ensure that data remains consistent across online, offline, and anonymous channels.

Role Responsibilities

  • Review and lead the gathering of business, functional, and technical requirements to create a unified view of all customer profile data .
  • Applies advanced knowledge and skills to develop and maintain the data strategy for customer data as it pertains to marketing operations.
  • Works with both internal and external stakeholders on data requirements, architectural considerations, and ensures alignment with marketing objectives.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with partners across business and Digital to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on customer identity, applying novel and innovation solutions to achieve results.
  • Adheres to privacy and consent design principles, ensuring prioritization and development of acceptance criteria that account for both.
  • Exercises own judgement and self-initiates assignments in accordance with marketing objectives and key results pertaining to improving outcomes for customer engagement.
  • Leverage technical knowledge to enhance customer engagement across various channels, such as email, social media, mobile apps, and more.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to data integration, customer engagement, and technical architecture.
  • Providing guidance and support to other team members, stakeholders, and partners as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience as a technical solutions professional, designing and implementing capabilities for customer identity as part of a larger enterprise-wide architecture, with hands-on expertise integrating on-premise and SaaS solutions.
  • Strong background enabling identity resolution, to include collecting customer data from different sources, cleansing and normalizing the data, and implementing deterministic and probabilistic match and merge models to create holistic customer profiles.
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing technology, product management, and cross-platform integration working across disparate and globally dispersed teams.
  • Adopting solutions that ensure a strict privacy-first approach to handling, storing, processing, and removal of PII data, and ensuring compliance with applicable local, regional, and industry regulations, such as HIPAA, CCPA and GDPR.
  • Familiarity integrating Customer Data Platforms (CDP) at scale, as well as working in multi-platform marketing technology ecosystems, to include relevant Adobe and Salesforce platforms.
  • Must be passionate about innovation and contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences to deliver breakthroughs that change patients’ lives.
  • Ability to explain advanced technical concepts to both technical and non-technical business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with relevant identity frameworks, such as Unified ID 2.0, as well as specific platform implementations such as Salesforce Identity Resolution Rulesets, and other CDP vendor specific identity implementations.
  • Expertise in SQL:Β  writing complex queries, optimization techniques, data modeling, and automating data workflows for repeatable analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, cleansing, transformation, and scripting data application workflows.
  • Experience working with different types of data, including structured, unstructured, and batch, streaming and real-time ingestion approaches, preferred.
  • Experience working with cloud-native data lake and data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake (preferred), Databricks, Microsoft Fabric or AWS Redshift.
  • Knowledgeable of applying machine learning and generative AI to solve customer identity challenges in collaboration with data science teams.
  • Prior background working in life sciences and commercial pharmaceuticals is a plus.

Other Information

  • Certification as a Salesforce Data or Technical Cloud Architect, Adobe Experience Cloud Professional, or equivalent preferred.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $120,800.00 to $201,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
