Job Overview:
The Marketing Analyst is responsible for analysing market trends, customer behaviour, and sales data to identify patterns and opportunities that enhance Cooper Machinery Services' marketing strategies. This role focuses on understanding market segmentation, growing market share, and increasing the share of wallet among key accounts. The candidate will evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and collaborate across departments to optimize sales and marketing efforts in an industrial B2B setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitive positioning, and customer needs. Analyse data from various channels to identify opportunities for growth in both market share and share of wallet.
- Data-Driven Insights: Evaluate marketing campaigns and sales data to determine effectiveness, making recommendations to improve market penetration and segmentation strategies.
- Share of Wallet: Analyse customer buying patterns to identify opportunities to increase share of wallet by offering additional products or services
- Market Segmentation: Develop and refine customer segmentation models to better target marketing efforts and ensure the company reaches the right audiences for maximum market impact.
- Market Share Growth: Monitor and report on market share performance, identifying key drivers for growth and areas where the company can capture additional share
- Buyer Table Analysis: Analyse and map out the buyer table, identifying key decision-makers and influencers within top 20 customers. Use these insights to improve engagement strategies and tailor marketing approaches to specific buyer personas
- Reporting & Presentations: Develop reports and dashboards that visualize key performance indicators (KPIs), including share of wallet, market segmentation, and market share, and present findings to marketing, sales, and leadership teams.
- Training & Support: Support the onboarding and continuous training of sales team members to ensure they are utilizing the available tools and processes efficiently.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Market Research & Data Analysis Expertise: Proven ability to conduct thorough market research, analyse trends, and interpret data to inform marketing strategies
- Experience in Market Segmentation, Market Share, and Share of Wallet: Strong background in identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for market share growth and increasing share of wallet
- Buyer Table Analysis: Ability to map the buyer table and identify decision-makers and influencers within target organizations.
- Proficiency in Data Analysis Tools: Experience with tools like Excel, Google Analytics, Tableau, or similar platforms to analyse marketing data and create actionable insights.
- Reporting & Visualization Skills: Ability to create comprehensive reports and dashboards that present key insights and KPIs to cross-functional teams and leadership
Desired Characteristics:
- Collaboration & Communication Skills: Proven ability to work effectively with sales, marketing, and product teams, and to communicate complex insights clearly
- Experience in the Energy or Machinery Industry: Familiarity with industrial marketing, especially in energy, oil & Gas, Midstream or machinery sectors, is highly preferred
- Competitor & Industry Monitoring: Experience in regularly tracking competitor activities and emerging industry trend.
- Master’s Degree: While a bachelor’s degree is required, a master’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field could be an added advantage.
