The Education Fund is a non-profit partnership between 6 Locals of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and 22 Healthcare Industry employers, serving the education and training needs of 100,000 eligible workers. Our mission is to empower our diverse healthcare workforce to advance in a changing environment through innovative education and training solutions.Β  Our program and budget have doubled in scale over the last 5 years to provide career advancement and continuing education services to 20,000 learners annually, and we are positioned for continued growth with new partners and funding.

Principal Purpose of Job: Works in a technical role to record, track and maintain program data.Β  Duties include program invoice processing, data entry, compiling/tracking financial and other data for programs, running database queries, using advanced functions of excel, and performing other functions that support the delivery of excellent service to the Ed Fund’s participants. This position also includes frequent communication with vendors and program participants.

Level of Authority: Works within the scope and direction of the Program Administration Manager in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.Β  High level of interaction with Program and Finance staff as well as periodic interaction with Ed Fund participants and vendors.

Work Environment: Most of the work is performed in a fast-paced office setting with frequent interruptions, adjustments and the need to deal with a diversity of people and tasks.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for processing program vendor invoices and vouchers, student reimbursements and lost time payments in a timely and accurate manner
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in processing payments for all Ed Fund programs
  • Prepares spreadsheets for upload to the Financial Edge accounting system
  • Queries the database to ensure that payments are made only on behalf of Ed Fund members
  • Prepares program reports for managers, monthly employer reports and ad hoc reports for Finance and Digital Strategy
  • Creates, maintains and reconciles program payment data for upload into database
  • Assists with additional ad hoc projects as necessary

Compensation:

Compensation available for the role considers various factors, including but not limited to, work location, individual skill set, previous/applicable experience, and other organizational needs. The starting hourly rate for this role is $ 33.46.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting or equivalent is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting or program administration department environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously within strict timelines/deadlines.
  • Strong analytical mind, interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a changing environment.
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (V-lookup and pivot tables)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word skills
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct, and Blackbaud Financial Edge a plus
  • Experience working with a proprietary database system such as Salesforce and Blackbaud Education Edge is a strong plus
  • Excellent written, oral, and problem solving skills
  • Flexibility regarding schedule and assignments
  • Strong critical thinking skills, judgment and tact, and a professional demeanor required
  • Experience working within a union or non-profit environment is preferred.
