JOB SUMMARY

 The Quality Data Specialist will complete a wide range of quantitative and qualitative reporting and analyses needed to provide business insight and identify trends/patterns.  

 PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

 Build reports in the electronic medical record (EMR).

  1. Generate and manage dashboards and reporting.
  2. Research data from other resources as needed to utilize for comparisons and to assist in goal setting.
  3. Create, track, and report on key performance metrics.
  4. Consult with organizational stakeholders to determine data needs to provide insight.
  5. Effectively compile and communicate findings to leadership or stakeholders.
  6. Ability to use excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  7. Ability to be adaptable, open to change, and respond to new information and unexpected circumstances.
  8. Uphold company mission and vision through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  9. Aptitude to read, understand, create, and communicate data as information.
  10. Support and comply with the organization’s Quality Improvement Plan.
  11. Work independently, solving problems within the purview of their authority.
  12. Adhere to all HIPAA and confidentiality laws as appropriate.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 Bachelor’s degree in business management, computer science/MIS

  1. 2+ years’ experience in healthcare quality
  2. Previous experience in AthenaOne is a plus.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

 Effective written, verbal, and electronic communication skills

  1. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Power BI, etc.).
  2. Acquainted with medical terminology and/or medical coding. 
  3. Ability to manage complex tasks and meet deadlines.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
  5. Ability to work under pressure.
  6. Ability to work well with others.
  7. Computer competency is required.

 RELATIONSHIP REPORTING

 Reports to the Business Intelligence Manager.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 Ability to sit, stand, and or walk for extended periods of time.

  1. Ability to view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
  2. Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
