Position Title: Remote Data Analyst 

Status: Full-Time/Non-exempt

Reports To: COO

Location: Remote

About the Organization: Lines for Life is a regional non-profit that is dedicated to preventing substance abuse and suicide. We offer help and hope to individuals and communities, and promote mental health for all. Our work addresses a spectrum of needs that include intervention, prevention, and advocacy. We educate, train, and advocate to prevent issues of substance abuse, mental illness, and thoughts of suicide from reaching crisis levels. But when a crisis arises or support is needed, we are available 24/7/365 to intervene with personalized help.

Remote Data Analyst Position Summary: The Data Analyst collects, analyzes data, and stores data and uses it to help Lines for Life and its partners make strategic data-driven decisions and evaluate impact. This position will support the data needs of all departments of the organization, including but not limited to the Crisis Lines, Prevention, Communications, Cultural Engagement Development, and Program Evaluation teams. This role requires curiosity, a willingness to learn and a fine eye for detail. Our current projects include: publicly reported usage measures, customer experience surveys, performance dashboards and impact assessments. Our interdisciplinary team values its members. Remote Data Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Provide data analysis: Support the data analysis needs of the organization
  • Data Quality: Assist in developing  processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Reports: create and disseminate reports to internal and external stakeholders
  • Statistical Analysis: Apply basic statistical techniques to identify patterns, relationships, and trends in data.
  • Data System Support: Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting data systems, ensuring their smooth operation.
  • Programming: Familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Predictive Modeling: Assist in developing models to forecast future outcomes based on historical data.
  • Call Center Data: Assist in analyzing call center data from the electronic health records system to help inform strategic decisions, including identifying caller needs and communicating demographic trends.
  • Data Source Development: Assist with the development, maintenance, and integration of existing data sources.
  • Maintain Security Procedures: Process confidential data and information according to guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
  • Reporting: Design and prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports for internal staff at Lines for Life, as well as for partners in accordance with contractual requirements of Prevention and Crisis Lines contracts.
  • Training: Train end-users on new reports and dashboards.
  • Perform other duties, such administrative and organizational tasks as needed.

Remote Data Analyst Qualifications:

  • Experience analyzing complex data. 
  • Strong data entry and critical thinking skills.
  • Systematic and logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Able to be creative and innovative when needed. 
  • Proficiency in Office 365, including intermediate knowledge and command of Excel. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI a plus. 
  • Familiarity with MSSQL or other relational database management systems a plus.
  • Program evaluation knowledge and statistical experience a plus.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems a plus.
  • Teamwork skills to be able to collaborate with stakeholders to meet data needs and assess potential risks.
  • Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.

Remote Data Analyst Work Schedule & Physical Requirements: 

  • This position currently reports to the COO and may change in the future.
  • This position will typically work 5 days per week and may include working evenings. Flexible working hours are an option. 
  • This position may work 100% remotely, as long as the technology and HIPAA compliance requirements can be met.
