Legal Compliance & Corporate Governance (LCG) Technology provides operational controls and surveillance capabilities to enhance the firm’s resilience to threats and fraudulent behavior. Our support of critical business functions extends to archival & records management, business continuity planning and due diligence investigations. This role is part of the LCG Special Projects Department, within LCG. The department is responsible for building, maintenance, and support of various centralized compliance tools, libraries, and platforms.

The candidate will join the team to work as a Scrum Master and Business Analyst on a number of centralized Compliance Monitoring tools. The tools are used by several Compliance departments. The candidate will work with the Product Owner and the squad to prioritize and execute the delivery of strategic enhancements to these tools.

As a Business Analyst, you will work within a super-fast paced environment, in an agile technical delivery team. This is certainly a hybrid between business, technical, and scrum master skills. You'll be doing anything from conducting analysis to identify business and data requirements, to working closely with the Compliance and Technology to design and execute on implementation plans. The ideal candidate should have the skills listed below but in addition should be a self-driven, dedicated individual who works well in a team and thinks and acts strategically. When faced with a problem, the candidate should be able to ask questions and leverage the skills and expertise of those around them.


Key Responsibilities

Partner with the business to help translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional, testable behavioral driven specifications

Perform business and data analysis, assess current state, define target state operating model, perform feasibility analysis, define roadmaps and implementation plans

Understand and articulate the technology vision and strategy, ensure that technology solution is successfully aligned with the business goals and priorities

Create a collaborative team environment; partner with Agile Coach to provide constructive feedback for continuous agile improvement

Promote Agile culture, values, behaviors, and principles across business, development and testing organization

Work closely with Product Owners, other scrum masters, business analyst and QA to progress along squad agenda

Plan and conduct Agile meetings/ceremonies

e.g., daily stand up, product demos, retrospectives etc.

Review and manage backlog and in-progress items to ensure the latest work status is captured and updated as appropriate

Maintain team metrics and report project statuses (e.g., velocity/burn down charts, financial status, issues/risks, etc.) on a regular basis to Product Owner, and to senior stakeholders.

Takes ownership to drive through resolutions of issues or blockers, coordinate directly with other development/product teams on inter-dependencies or through scrum-of-scrum ceremony

Monitor team performance and balance workload and help identify continuous improvement opportunities to help the team work more efficiently

Skills

Strong relevant experience of 5+ years in a large complex banking organization or major consulting firm acting in a Business Analyst and/or Scrum Master or project management capacity

Strong financial capital markets and product experience preferred

Relevant and substantial work experience with business requirements definition and management (end to end), structured analysis, process design, and use case documentation

Strong SQL and Data Analysis knowledge is a must

Highly versed in Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies

Demonstrated ability to partner and liaison between business users and a technical development team

Excellent relationship management, communication, teamwork, and influence skills; ability to operate at senior levels in both written and verbal communications.

Proven servant leader

Must be able to garner respect from their team and offer solutions by getting into the details

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Hands on experience to develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents, including identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path

Experience estimating resources and participants needed to achieve project goals

Ability to proactively manage change in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency

Experience in Agile project management software/tools (JIRA preferred)

Proficient with MS Office applications: Excel, MS Project, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint

Skills Desired:

Previous experience in Capital markets compliance. Trade Surveillance / Control room Surveillance, Employee investing and activities compliance preferred

Prior experience working with large volumes of data; and designing target state solutions. Knowledge of trade and market data, financial products preferred

Prior experience with Surveillance & Controls vendor products like NICE Actimize, Star Compliance

Scrum Master Certification (e.g., CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe)
