This position will assist in organizing GME resident research activities and education, as well as
analyze research and assist with preparation of written/published presentation material. This
position will also participate in the analysis of research data for the Trauma Research Program.
These functions support fulfillment of institutional requirements for GME scholarly activity and
maintenance of Level I Trauma Center status from the Accreditation Council for Graduate
Medical Education and the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, respectively.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:
- Secondary analyses of hospital administrative data, specialty registry data from within the institution, (e.g., trauma registry), and publicly available data
- Generate research hypotheses and analysis plans in collaboration with the trauma program, faculty and resident investigators
- Identify, synthesize, and summarize relevant information from peerβreviewed articles and professional reports
- Lead evaluation projects including design, data collection, and IRB applications
- Oversee and monitor research and evaluation studies
- Write reports and manuscripts for publication
- Submit and present results at conferences and to state agencies, as requested
- Attend meetings (virtually and in person) with collaborators, locally, nationally, and internationally.
- Develop and maintain educational content for residents and other stakeholders via platforms like Teams channels, etc.
- Track progress of residents in their research and other scholarly activities and report
- Results to program director and team.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- We prefer a candidate with a Masters degree in a Social Science related field or Public Health.
- Work experience and a peerβreviewed publication record are viewed favorably
