Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our team, with a focus on leveraging Adaptive Planning to handle detailed data requests. Hybrid position, two days a week (Tues and Wed) in office at 1241 W Warner Rd in Tempe.Β The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage complex financial datasets, extract insights, and contribute to decision-making processes. Experience in the education industry is highly preferred, with a strong foundation in financial analysis and basic SQL knowledge.

  • Work closely with various internal teams to gather, analyze, and interpret financial information from Adaptive Planning and other sources.
  • Generate detailed financial reports and models to support decision-making processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve financial models to assess business performance.
  • Learn and apply basic SQL to extract and manipulate data from relevant databases for financial analysis purposes.
  • Analyze historical data trends and forecast future financial performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to ensure alignment on business priorities.
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests, including variance analysis, financial projections, and due diligence requests.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and financial best practices, particularly in the education sector.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in the education sector or a similar industry.
  • Technical Skills:
    • High level of proficiency in Adaptive Planning or similar financial planning tools is required.
    • Basic SQL knowledge and the ability to learn and apply SQL for data extraction is preferred.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including nested IF statements, Index-Match, Offset, and complex financial modeling.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in Higher Education preferred.
