Overview of this position:

  • We are looking for a forward thinker and a problem solver. Insurance and reinsurance knowledge is needed. Accounting knowledge is a plus for the position. Strong analytical and financial modeling skills are credentials required for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support the team of Financial Analysts, reporting to the Assistant Controller
  • Assist in design, development, and production of reports: P&L, Expenses, Losses, Premium/Commission/Earnings, Budget/Forecast, T&E, and Ad-Hoc reporting
  • Support multiple profit centers financial reporting, including but not limited to the following: Production, Budgeting, Forecasting, Quarter-Close, and Expenses
  • Communicate financial results in a clear and concise manner
  • Analyze and challenge gross & ceded reinsurance financials for accuracy (FAC, QS, XOL)
  • Reconcile, analyze and model financial impacts to P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
  • Work with cross-functional departments, including but not limited to the following: Underwriting, Claims, Reinsurance, Operations, IT and HR, to drive issue resolution

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with at least 5 years of experience

  • Experience working in P&C Insurance preferred
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and accounting skills
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Dynamic personality with strong multi-task and problem-solving skills
