Job Summary

Goosehead Insurance is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic fp&a team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting and reviewing financial analysis deliverables of financial analysts, signing off on their work, preparing management reporting, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis:Β Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support business decisions, identify trends, and make recommendations for cost optimization and revenue growth. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to improve overall company performance.

  • Leadership:Β Train financial analysts to be successful and able to operate independently. Review and sign off on financial analyst's deliverables, ensuring they are timely and accurate.

  • Reporting:Β Collaborate with department heads to prepare and deliver periodic management reporting, including detailed budget to actual variance analysis, profitability assessments, and financial projections.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:Β Collaborate with department heads to establish and manage the budgeting process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of budget inputs. Perform ongoing forecasting and variance analysis to provide insights into financial performance.

  • Data Management:Β Collect, organize, and interpret financial data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and key metrics to track financial performance against goals

  • Process Improvement:Β Identify opportunities to enhance financial planning processes, tools, and systems. Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and quality of financial analysis.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  • MBA or advanced professional certification (CFA, CPA) is a plus.

  • 1+ years of experience training, mentoring or managing financial analysts

  • 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related field.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in financial modeling, Microsoft Excel, and financial software including SQL. Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is also required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

  • Highly organized with the ability to perform multiple tasks and meet agreed upon deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with executives.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
