About the role:

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Controlling / FP&A Department at REMONDIS Australia as a Senior Financial Analyst based in the Head Office in Sydney (Mascot), NSW.

We’re looking for an experienced accountant or Financial Analyst who wants to progress with their career into a role that encompasses reporting, planning and data analytics. You will be a forward-thinking, tech-savvy individual, eager to learn, and desire to improve processes by leveraging technology and automation.

How you will make an impact

  • Timely, accurate and effective reporting of financial and operational results to the local management teams and parent company
  • Play a major role in delivering quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
  • Enhance budget and forecast processes through technology, communication and delivering value driving insights
  • Deliver financial analysis and data-driven insights to support timely and informed decision-making
  • Support business development and acquisition initiatives including value analysis and integration
  • Deliver bi-annual risk reporting and analysis
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, finance colleagues, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration
  • Identify inefficiencies in existing financial processes and recommend improvements to streamline operations and enhance accuracy
  • Be part of the growth and transformation journey involving special projects within the department and across the organisation
  • Support and mentor 2 financial analysts

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Qualified CPA/CA/CFA accreditation
  • 5 plus years’ experience in a financial analyst or accounting role.  Experience in waste, transport, capital equipment, mining or resources will be highly regarded
  • Proven track record in financial planning and analysis within commercial settings
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial concepts with demonstrated experience handling P&L, Balance sheet and cashflow statements.
  • Comfortable building financial models to support ad hoc financial analysis for key company stakeholders.
  • Able to efficiently and accurately consolidate, transform, and analyse large volumes of data
  • Advanced Excel skills, PowerBI, ProPhix, Powerpoint, Reporting/Budgeting systems and major ERP experience (e.g. Dynamics, SAP, Oracle)
  • Keen desire to learn the “how to” and “why” of current processes to understand and optimise current business practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Natural inclination for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Be proactive in relation to continuous improvement, understanding processes, and communicating with stakeholders
  • Ability to self-manage and work to deadlines as well as support overall team objectives
