Position Summary

The Senior SFS Financial Analyst is responsible for producing accurate and timely financial reports and analyses to inform strategic decisions for both the SFS and AAA teams. This role gathers and interprets complex financial data to provide actionable recommendations and insights, and is expected to possess advanced expertise in financial modeling, data-driven strategy, and high-level analysis. They will directly supervise the Financial Aid and Admissions Analyst, providing guidance, coordinating schedules, and setting priorities. Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of SFS Operations and Compliance, the Senior SFS Financial Aid Data Analyst also has a dotted-line reporting relationship to the AAA Director of Systems and Strategic Analysis. Additionally, they will serve as the primary SFS contact for all reporting and analysis projects within the department.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Analyzes and Reports Complex Data

  • Conducts high-level financial analysis of complex data to support SFS and AAA leadership team.
  • Provides insights to support the development of policies and programs aligned with the division’s and institution’s goals.

Monitors Trends and Supports Campus Needs

  • Tracks trends in student aid and enrollment and fulfills data and analysis needs for various campus stakeholders.

Delivers Actionable Insights

  • Identifies patterns and opportunities within data and makes actionable, data-informed recommendations to drive strategic decisions.

Oversees the SFS analysis and reporting priorities, manages the associated calendar, and acts as the primary contact for SFS data needs. This role requires expertise in extracting and interpreting complex financial information and involves close collaboration with key campus partners, such as Financial Planning, Institutional Research, Student Accounting, University Advancement, and the Provost's Office. Senior SFS Analyst will serve on the AAA Enrollment Planning group.

Provides support and supervision to the SFS aid and admissions analyst, ensuring accurate, timely, robust and strategic reporting that supports the work of SFS and the AAA Team. Support includes second-level oversight for the assignment of donated funds.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$65,900.00 - $112,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
