Company Description

The Senior Financial Analyst,Brand Marketing will support with reporting and analysis, budget planning and tracking, training, financial presentations, and projects as needed. The role is ideal for an experienced analyst who can leverage skills and experience to operate at an advanced level and deliver added value to the organization. In addition to support of the financial function within the your assigned department(s), the Senior Financial Analyst will have regular interaction with various stakeholders and Headquarter financial teams in monthly budgeting, planning, and analysis.  The Senior Financial Analyst will have responsibility across the P&L including: volume, trade marketing, consumer marketing, sampling program, and indirect costs. 

 

Job Description

REPORTING AND ANALYSIS 

Ensure that month-end close data is accurate, complete, and in GAAP compliance 

Deliver monthly reports to budget owners and the Finance team 

Identify and quantify Risks and Opportunities across all areas of your assigned department(s)  

Analyze results for actionable insights and relay information to relevant  personnel 

Prepare top-level financial summary for various stakeholders.  

BUDGETING PLANNING AND TRACKING

Drive planning process for business planning and revised estimates 

Design and build tools to aid functional budget managers in forecast development 

Analyze forecasts to ensure alignment with expectations and controlling guidelines 

Coordinate input of data into financial planning systems 

EMPLOYEE TRAINING 

Partner with various teams by becoming the “go-to” finance expert, establishing credibility, and building relationships 

Increase financial accountability within the assigned department(s) through regular collaboration, meetings, and presentations 

Train personnel on the use of financial systems, processes, and financial resource management 

Develop tools, reports, and analyses that deliver added value to the business by increasing transparency and data quality 

FINANCIAL PRESENTATIONS

Present projects or analysis in regular meetings 

Up-level employees in financial processes as well as general business acumen 

 

PROJECTS

Support new initiatives within assigned departments 

Identify areas for process improvement and/or increased efficiency 

Assist HQ/Global initiatives when extended to business units 

Execute “blank page” requests from Finance Management and/or Leadership 

Create reporting to accommodate organizational or functional changes 

KEY RESULTS AND DELIVERABLES 

A consistent and effective approach to planning, reporting, and analyzing financial results across department(s).  

Establish a strong working relationship with budget managers and HQ Finance personnel. 

Identify cost-saving measures to engender more efficient use of company resources. 

Budgets are reviewed at a detailed level and budget managers are held accountable for overages. 

Perform month-end close and analysis independently and accurately. 

Provide continuous documentation of processes and best practices within applicable areas. 

Measurable improvement in accuracy of all spends.  

HQ initiatives are implemented timely and accurately. 

 

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred 

3+ years of work experience as a financial analyst, preferably in the consumer-packaged goods industry. 

Ability to operate independently in a matrix environment. 

Strong Accounting background. 

Strong communication skills; ability to interact with and persuasively present financial issues to all levels of management. 

Strongly analytical and adept at identifying trends and variances. 

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. 

Strong organizational and financial skills. 

Experience of managing multiple projects and delivering results. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.   

Familiarity with SAP R/3, SAP BI, and Hyperion an advantage.
