Job Description

WGL -  Pipeline Integrity Data Specialist

Washington Gas has an immediate opening for a Pipeline Data Integrity Specialist to perform data integration for the TIMP Risk Model and perform Quality Assurance on GIS data.

You Will:
• Performs QA/QC of Pipeline Integrity related objects in Smallworld (ie Direct Assessments, Cathodic Protection Areas, Class Locations, Strip Buffers and High consequence Areas).
• Assists with data gathering for Transmission & High Pressure Risk Model.
• Creates and updates Risk Model input files.
• Prepares and coordinates data/reports for the Integrity Management Program Team (i.e. records for Transmission pipe surveys including field notes, Quad maps, and WMIS Work Requests).
• Assists in data gathering for the annual DOT Report.
• Assists with MAOP verification program.
• Participates in audits from local and federal agencies.

You Must Have:
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Science Degree preferred
• 2+ Years Minimum of four (4) years of experience is required in natural gas or related industry required
• Corrosion control/cathodic protection experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Smallworld GIS software to include version management, conflict resolution, creating and running spatial queries.
• Working knowledge of construction practices, especially as related to record keeping.
• Ability to proficiently operate computer software (MS Excel and/or Access) and hardware for data manipulation, analysis and presentation purposes.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to logically analyze and solve business problems.
• Ability to write and present diverse ideas in a logical and concise manner.
• Working knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations desired.
• General knowledge of Washington Gas operations and procedures.

We offer a competitive salary range of $79,500 to $109,500 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
