Job Description

The Associate Director, Senior Data Analyst will join our firm and help us build our data strategy.Β  The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building our data strategy, conducting comprehensive data analyses, and ensuring the utmost quality and integrity of our data assets.Β  This position demands a proactive and collaborative individual with a meticulous attention to detail, excellent problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work as both an individual contributor and planner.Β

Key Responsibilities:

Β 

  • Create Data Analyses: Execute detailed data analyses to support investment strategies, portfolio management, and operational efficiencies.Β  Work with internal clients to facilitate both ad hoc and repeatable requests for data.
  • Develop a Data Dictionary: Establish and maintain an exhaustive data dictionary to ensure all firm data elements are clearly defined, consistent, and readily accessible across the organization.Β  Work with stakeholders to drive consensus on definitions, data sources etc.
  • Implement a Data Governance System: Identify, evaluate, and implement the most suitable tool that aligns with the firm’s requirements.Β  Provide training to staff on its utilization and ensure its continuous optimization and use.
  • Create Governance: Formulate and enforce data governance policies and procedures to guarantee data accuracy, proper flow of information and compliance.Β  Collaborate closely with Operations and IT teams to establish robust data stewardship practices.
  • Participate in Firm Projects: Engage with cross-functional teams on firm-wide projects, offering data expertise and ensuring that data-related requirements are thoroughly addressed.Β  Contribute actively to project planning, execution, and evaluation stages.
  • Data Integration and Management: Work with developers to integrate data from various sources, including market data, transactional data, and client information.Β  Ensure seamless data flow between different systems and applications used within the firm.
  • Data Quality Monitoring: Create dashboards and reconciliation of key firm data elements to ensure the completeness, accuracy and reliability of data throughout firm systems.Β  Work with Operations to ensure that data cleanliness protocols are followed appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data analysis, preferably within financial services or investment sector.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working in the Investment Management space and Securities data is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principals and best practices.
  • Experience with data dictionary tools and comprehensive data management processes.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Salary will be based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, licenses/certifications, industry knowledge, and geographic location.
