Summary: The Early Head Start (EHS) Data Specialist ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and security of all program data systems. This role maintains data monitoring, analysis, and reporting while ensuring timely and accurate data entry across all program areas. The Data Specialist verifies data integrity, troubleshoots system issues, and supports data literacy among EHS staff. Collaborating with program leadership, this position fosters a culture of excellence and continuous improvement through data-driven insights.
Success In This Role Looks Like:
- Develop and maintain internal data systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure accessibility, security, and integrity of documentation through SharePoint and other platforms.
- Conduct audits and data analyses to assess trends and provide actionable insights.
- Analyze monthly and annual data from ChildPlus and other software to track progress and compliance.
- Prepare for monitoring visits, assist with corrective action plans, and ensure follow-through.
- Manage staff, child, and family data accounts across multiple program systems.
What You Bring To The Team:
- Strong proficiency in data management systems, reporting tools, and Excel.
- Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards, licensing, and data security regulations.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities to enhance data processes.
- Ability to provide staff training on data systems and best practices.
- Effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Requirements for Consideration:
- High school diploma with 5 years of experience in data management, information systems, or a related field.
- OR associate's degree with 4 years experience in data management, information systems, or a related field.
- OR bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in data management, information systems, or a related field.
- Experience in early childhood education data management preferred.
- Ability to travel occasionally to HumanKind Campus and program centers in Bedford and Lynchburg.
