Overview

Topco Associates is currently seeking a Master Data Analyst for our Enterprise Data Governance Team in Itasca, IL. This position will be a hybrid role, with the successful candidate conducting work in our Itasca office three times per week and virtual twice per week.

This position will create, maintain, and support Master Data for all products across Topcoโ€™s tiered brand portfolio.ย  The Master Data Analyst will work within the Enterprise Master Data Team and along with other business functions to facilitate the creation, maintenance, and validation of our master data.ย  Master Data Analyst will use technical tools and best practices to analyze and measure enterprise data quality and develop action plans to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of our enterprise data with the necessary standards.ย  In addition, the role will support data governance policies across all business functions and the compliance with external data standards such as GS1 or the FDA.

Responsibilities

  • Create new and modify existing items in SAP for all products including updates reflecting the stages of the Item Life Cycle process.
  • Document and store data to be used for creating, maintaining, or updating records. Establish and maintain excellent working relationships between all Topco departments, members, and suppliers to resolve master data questions and issues.
  • Ability to recognize problems proactively, then develop and follow through with problem resolution to maintain accurate master data.
  • Conduct data validation and reconciliation processes following completion of data creation or update.
  • Define data quality metrics and validation rules.
  • Perform data quality audits for inconsistent, incomplete, and incorrect data that violates existing business rules.
  • Perform data profiling and cleansing techniques to maintain consistent and accurate information.
  • Support data workflows across Topcoโ€™s ecosystem.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to streamline all master data processes and entries.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written to provide guidance related to the best data practices and the importance of data standards.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Four-year college degree in information systems, business, supply chain, finance, or commensurate experience.

Technical skills:

  • Ability to work in a complex environment through a strong understanding of data flows to achieve reporting and analytical results.
  • Strong knowledge of database analysis, and the ability to help structure data for the use in reporting and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with supply chain transactional systems such as SAP is a plus.

Previous Experience:

  • Minimum one year of relevant experience in a CPG company or similar supply chain operations.
  • Experience in identifying and resolving data quality issues.
  • Experience in performing root cause analysis on data quality issues.
  • Knowledge of an Enterprise Resource System, (ERP), with an understanding of the relationships, hierarchies, and impacts information has on the business.
  • Data Synchronization and GS1 standards experience is a plus.

Salary Range

$60,000 - $70,000/annually
