Job Summary
The Sales and Marketing Analyst is responsible for driving the data to make impactful decisions in a fun, fast-paced quick-service restaurant environment. This includes managing our analysis for campaigns, pricing, marketing programs, media and delivering those results and recommendations that will guide strategy. This person will work cross-functionally with all disciplines of marketing and our Finance Team. The ideal candidate will have the curiosity and drive to explore solutions driven by the data.
Responsibilities
Campaign Analysis
β’ Monitor and track sales of campaign items
β’ Look for trends, calculate break-even points and determine campaign profitability
β’ Research historical sales trends of campaign items on the proposed calendar to help forecast campaign profitability
Pricing Analysis
β’ Create and maintain database of historical and current pricing to perform ongoing analytics
β’ Send and compile periodic surveys real time pricing changes
β’ Maintain internal databases and files for pricing analysis
Marketing Program Analysis
β’ Perform return on investment analysis of existing and proposed marketing programs
β’ Plan, design, and create data visualizations that clearly communicate campaign results for KPIs and other metrics of interest
β’ Conduct menu analysis of categories to establish seasonality of menu mix
β’ Determine potential sales lift from test items and new initiatives
β’ Work collaboratively with Media, Digital and Field teams on data-related analysis
Research and Strategy
β’ Assist in administering research through internal and external sources
β’ Provide recommendations based on research in the development of brand strategy
β’ Make Media & Digital recommendations and POVs when applicable
β’ Aid in consumer and competitive analysis in campaign development, pricing and media opportunities
β’ Assist in developing data mining opportunity within our digital analysis
Financial Planning & Analysis
β’ Prepare annual Budget and periodic Forecast for the Marketing department
β’ Prepare monthly commentary on sales and marketing performance including variance explanations for actual versus budgeted/expected results
β’ Develop interface with Great Plains accounting software to facilitate budget preparation and monthly results analysis
Reporting and Analysis
β’ DOMO β Develop expertise on the product and determine appropriate application for Jackβs.
β’ Develop content and delivery method for sales KPI reporting
β’ Plan experiments and offer internal analysis for A/B testing on multi-variate tests
β’ Prepare presentation materials for Board of Directors meetings
β’ Maintenance of automated reporting dashboard and data pipelines
β’ Perform Ad-hoc analysis and manage special assignments as needed
Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs Degree in Business or related field required. Masterβs degree desired.
β’ 5+ yearsβ experience in field or related field
β’ Strong SQL background
β’ Advanced data analytics and statistical analysis skills
β’ Dashboard-building and reporting experience
β’ Detailed understanding of sales and marketing functions
β’ Detailed understanding of financial measures and KPIs
β’ Excellent computer skills in Excel and other MS Office programs
β’ Strong organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills
β’ Good verbal and written communication skills
β’ Relational database experience preferred
