Location:     Washington, D.C. (preferred) or U.S. Remote
Salary:         Competitive salary and benefits package based on qualifications; classified as full-time salaried; exempt and not eligible for overtime.

Reports to:  Paul Koch, Head of Data

Travel:         Occasional travel may be required

Position Overview 

Tuckernuck’s business and team members thrive on data. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will influence key strategic decisions within a high-volume, high-growth business. You will use and contribute to a modern data stack (BigQuery, dbt, Hex, and Fivetran). You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams — including Tech, Buying, Planning, Marketing, Operations, and Finance — empowering them to make data one of Tuckernuck’s competitive advantages. Ultimately, you will help us to maximize the value of our 2 billion rows of data (and counting), converting raw information into knowledge that helps to fuel our next phase of growth.

Core Responsibilities 

• Conduct rigorous, accurate data analyses using SQL and Python.
• Communicate your findings and recommendations clearly, both in writing and orally.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify high-value projects and propose effective approaches.
• Follow best practices for dbt model-building and project-structuring.
• Produce dashboards and data tooling using Hex.
• Provide peer review of analysis deliverables.
• Educate other teams about our data through hands-on teaching and strong documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

• You have worked in a data-centric role for at least 3 years.
• You have used SQL and dbt in a professional context.
• You are comfortable with Git.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

• Can cite examples of how your past analyses have influenced stakeholders’ behavior and quantitatively impacted your organization.
• Care not only about properly analyzing data, but also effectively presenting and visualizing your findings.
• Work proactively and independently, proposing projects rather than waiting for stakeholders to request them.
• Know when to work with ambiguity and when to push for clarity.
• Maintain a “strong opinions, loosely held” mindset: you have ideas for the business but adjust your position as you discover new information.
• Stay plugged into the data and analytics community, eager to learn about new tools and practices and introduce them in your work.
• Value curiosity, teamwork, input from others, and a focus on outcomes.

Preferred Skills

• Used Google Analytics 4 data extensively, especially via BigQuery.
• Worked in a retail business, especially direct-to-consumer.
• Implemented on-site digital measurement (e.g., via Google Tag Manager) and understand how to use Chrome Developer Tools.
• Designed, implemented, and interpreted experiments (e.g., via split-testing tools).
• Worked with digital advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads and Meta).
