About the Role:Β 

The Tableau Analyst plays a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights through interactive, visually compelling dashboards and reports. As our organization transitions from Power BI to Tableau, experience with migrating and rebuilding dashboards from Power BI to Tableau is highly valued. While familiarity with SQL, Python, and Snowflake is a plus, the organization has a dedicated SQL Database Administrator, an ETL team, and a Snowflake Administrator to handle complex data extraction and database management tasks. The Tableau Analyst will focus on data visualization, analysis, and storytelling to support strategic decision-making.Β

Β Key Responsibilities:Β 

  • Β  Develop and Maintain Tableau Dashboards
    • Create, update, and optimize interactive dashboards that highlight key performance indicators, trends, and business opportunities.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure dashboard designs align with organizational needs and are both user-friendly and visually appealing.
    • Leverage Tableau’s geospatial mapping capabilities to visualize location-based data and support geographic analyses.
  • Migrate Existing Reports
    • Work closely with teams currently using Power BI to migrate or rebuild existing dashboards into the Tableau environment.
    • Evaluate best practices and ensure a smooth transition of data models, visualizations, and functionalities.
  • Perform Data Analysis and Insight Generation
    • Analyze data sets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that support data-driven decision-making.
    • Assist in identifying potential business opportunities and risks based on data findings.
  • Collaborate with BI and Cross-Functional Teams
    • Partner with the Business Intelligence Director and other stakeholders to clarify data needs and translate them into actionable dashboard requirements.
    • Coordinate with the dedicated SQL Database Administrator, ETL team, and Snowflake Administrator as needed for data sourcing and maintenance.
  • Ensure Data Accuracy and Quality
    • Validate and reconcile data within Tableau dashboards.
    • Provide feedback to ETL and database teams to address any discrepancies or data-quality issues.
  • Data Storytelling and Presentations
    • Present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Produce regular and ad hoc reports, ensuring the information is easily understood and actionable.
  • Continual Improvement
    • Stay updated on Tableau’s latest features, best practices for data visualization, and strategies for optimizing performance.
    • Review and refine dashboards based on user feedback and evolving business goals.
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Key Qualifications:Β 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven Experience in data visualization, dashboard creation, and analysis, with a strong focus on Tableau.
  • Strong Communication Skills to translate complex data into understandable insights for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-Oriented Mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Basic Data Concepts (e.g., SQL queries, Snowflake environment)

Β Preferred Skills:Β 

  • Experience Migrating from Power BI to Tableau: Ability to convert existing Power BI dashboards, data models, and functionalities into Tableau.
  • Advanced Tableau Expertise: Hands-on experience with calculated fields, LOD expressions, dashboard performance tuning, and best practices.
  • Geospatial Analysis in Tableau: Proficiency in creating and using maps in Tableau, including layering geographic data, custom geocoding, and analyzing location-based insights.
  • Exposure to Data Warehousing: Familiarity with Snowflake or equivalent platforms.
  • Analytical Techniques for identifying patterns, trends, and correlations in data.
  • Basic Understanding of ETL Processes or APIs/webhooks for data integration
