Business Intelligence Engineer

We are looking for a highly motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join our team in New Carlisle, Indiana. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions that empower data-driven decision-making. This role involves working with stakeholders to gather requirements, creating data visualizations, and optimizing data models to enhance business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop BI solutions, dashboards, and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or AWS QuickSight.
  • Create and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into data warehouses and analytical platforms.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for efficient data retrieval and transformation.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency by implementing best practices in data governance and validation.
  • Build and maintain data models and schemas to support analytics and reporting.
  • Monitor BI system performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements for scalability and efficiency.
  • Support self-service BI initiatives, enabling business users to access and analyze data independently.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging BI and analytics technologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, AWS QuickSight, or Looker.
  • Experience working with cloud-based data warehouses such as AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or Google BigQuery.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks (e.g., AWS Glue, Talend, Apache Airflow).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, star/snowflake schema, and data warehousing principles.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and visual reports.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS data services (S3, Athena, Redshift, Glue, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis and automation.
  • Familiarity with predictive analytics, machine learning, or AI-driven BI.
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
