OVERVIEW





As an Information Governance Data Specialist, you will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment, maintaining the integrity of our records management application (RMA) while playing a pivotal role in managing both physical and electronic records for preservation and disposition. RESPONSIBILITIES





  • Serves as the go-to authority on iManage Records Manager (IRM) and the liaison between IT and Records-IG departments on its use;
  • Enhances data clarity to streamline the recall and disposition of records, transforming user feedback into actionable improvements for RMA performance;
  • Provides training and technical support to the Records Operations team, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed;
  • Drives data integrity by regularly reviewing and updating RMA data, ensuring it remains accurate and comprehensive. Performs research, processes updates, and executes data clean-up tasks with precision;
  • Evaluates legacy data in systems outside IRM and plans for migration into the RMA;
  • Communicates effectively with attorneys and professional staff at all levels;
  • Tracks legal holds in iManage Records Manager;
  • Develops and implements Firm-wide standard processes for RMA data, adhering to industry best practices and evolving standards;
  • Tracks and implements enhancements to the RMA, evaluates new software and integrations, and recommends changes to elevate our information governance practices;
  • Extracts data to prepare spreadsheets, reports, and presentations; and
  • Performs other duties, as needed.





QUALIFICATIONS





  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Library Science, Legal Studies, or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., IGP, CIP, CRM, CIPP) is a plus;
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant work experience in records management, information governance, compliance, or related field, preferably in a legal environment;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in an information governance or data integrity role, with demonstrated progression in responsibility;
  • Deep understanding of information governance principles, practices, and standards, including records management, data privacy, and data security considerations unique to law firms;
  • High level expertise in using information governance tools and technologies, with experience in iManage Records Manager (IRM) and iManage Work preferred;
  • Experience developing, documenting and, implementing procedures to support information governance policies and guidelines;
  • Experience and aptitude with manipulating programs and databases with proven ability to maintain a large quantity of data;
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to completion;
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on practical solutions;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with legal professionals and stakeholders at all levels of the firm;
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to collaborate closely with co-workers;
  • Strong attention to detail; and
  • Ability to work additional hours, as needed.

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
