Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst to support the analysis and management of projects encompassing the life cycle of business systems or IT systems.Β  This is a full-time position at the Department of State.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full life cycle of IT projects, including application development, SharePoint sites, IT infrastructure, alternatives analysis, and security.
  • Create a wide range of documentation, including SDLC artifacts, presentations/briefings, executive summary reports, status reports, and customer communications. Written products must be of sufficient quality to deliver and present to senior management.
  • Provide inputs to cost/benefit analyses and other cost estimation activities.
  • Provide advice and support to junior team members.
  • Create and manage project schedules and provide status updates to team and contract management.
  • Assess commercial and government product performance against requirements and make recommendations for adoption.
  • Facilitate meetings with project stakeholders to develop and review requirements and specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with development, operations, and security teams to identify and resolve project risks and issues and move projects forward according to scope and schedule.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute inter-team and customer events such as continuity of operations exercises, training events, user testing and product delivery.
  • Prepare communications plans and artifacts regarding product deployments.
  • Analyze business processes and provide improvement recommendations and associated process and procedure documentation.

Qualifications

12 years experience in IT project planning, analysis, and execution and/or business consulting.Β  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.Β  Additional years of work experience may be substituted for degree requirements.Β  Proven experience capabilities in business analysis, project management, requirements gathering, across a variety of IT functional areas (development, operations, security).Β  Must have strong analytical skills.Β  Able to communicate complex information in a professional, easy-to-understand way to various audiences, including technical, business, and management staff.Β  Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.Β  Able to work independently and as a team player, multi-task, be flexible, and support multiple efforts simultaneously.Β  Working knowledge of Microsoft O365 products, including Visio and MS Project.Β  Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.
